Left-overs

As published in our December 4th bulletin

If you shared a meal of thanksgiving with your family last week, you were probably faced with the dilemma of what to do with all those left-overs; turkey, ham, green-beans, dinner rolls, mashed potatoes, and stuffing.  And if you are like most families, you will craft the remains into numerous other dining delights: casseroles, turkey sandwiches, soups & stews.  Left-overs are a joy filled expectation of the Thanksgiving meal.

The same is true when one partakes in the feast of GOD through faith in Jesus Christ.

Jesus said “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty” (John 6).  Later the apostle Paul stated “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (Gal 5).

So we understand that not only does one find salvation in Christ & soulful satisfaction, but as one abides in His presence, we also experience (and emulate) His blessings of love, joy, peace, kindness, patience, gentleness, etc.

Having chosen to feast on the Lord Jesus, the question that remains is, what will you do with the Lord’s leftovers?  How will you re-purpose His blessings?
